Overview
This automation listens for the Video Comment event inside Sendr.
Whenever a lead comments on a Sendr video, a Slack message is instantly sent to your team with the lead’s details and the comment content.
This ensures no engagement goes unnoticed and allows your team to respond quickly while interest is high.
What This Automation Does
When a lead:
• Watches your Sendr video
• Leaves a comment on the video
The automation will:
Capture the lead’s details (name, email, company if available)
Capture the comment content
Send a structured Slack notification to your chosen Slack channel
All in real-time.
Before You Begin
Make sure:
• Your Sendr page includes a video with comments enabled
• You have Slack connected inside the Sendr Automation Builder
• You have permission to post messages in your selected Slack channel
No webhooks are required.
This uses Sendr’s native Video Comment event trigger.
Step 1: Create the Trigger
Go to Sendr → Automation Builder
Click Create Automation
Select Trigger Event → Video Comment
Choose:
Specific page Template
Click Save
This tells Sendr:
“When a lead leaves a comment on this Page Template, start this automation.”
Step 2: Add Tool Execution (Condition Filter)
Now we add a condition to ensure the automation only runs for video comments.
Click + Add Step
Select Tool Execution
Choose Run on Condition
Configure the condition as follows:
• IF Event (Video Comment )
• Condition: Contains (Video Comment)
Then COntinue Automation
Condition Logic:
✅ The automation only proceeds when the engagement specifically matches a video comment event
❌ Other engagement types (page visits, emoji reactions, etc.) will not trigger Slack alerts
Click Save once the condition is configured.
Step 3: Add Slack Notification
Click + Add Step
Choose Slack
Select Send Channel Message to a Public Channel
Choose your Slack workspace and channel
Map the message (comes in the template)
Step 4: Test the Automation
Click Test Trigger
Leave a test comment on your Sendr video
Confirm Slack receives the notification
Click Enable
Why This Extra Condition Matters
Adding the Tool Execution condition:
• Reduces false triggers
• Prevents engagement noise
• Ensures only video comment events send alerts
• Keeps Slack clean and actionable
Summary
Trigger: Engagement Event
Step 2: Condition → Value contains “video played comments”
Action: Send Slack Notification
This structured filtering ensures your team is notified only when a meaningful video comment is made.
